Command passwd

Changes the password.

Syntax

passwd [username]

Options

No

Description

The passwd command changes your password. It asks for old password, and then the new password. If you are a privileged user, you can change the password another user by specifying its name as an argument to the command passwd.

Command groups

groups command shows the groups to which the user belongs.

Syntax

groups [username]

Description

groups command displays the names of groups to which the user belongs. Unless specify the username, the command displays the current user group.
